Pietro Maximoff, known as Quicksilver, is a character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). He possesses superhuman speed, able to move, think, and perceive the world at accelerated rates, leaving behind a "Transparent" trail.
His first MCU appearance was a brief cameo in the post-credits scene of *Captain America: The Winter Soldier* (2014), alongside his sister, Wanda Maximoff. He then played a significant role in *Avengers: Age of Ultron* (2015).
In *Age of Ultron*, Pietro and Wanda initially align themselves with Ultron, seeking revenge on Tony Stark for the death of their parents. They later switch sides and join the Avengers. Quicksilver sacrifices himself to save Hawkeye and a child from Ultron's gunfire during the final battle in Sokovia.
